Hard Candy VERSUS! Urban Decay BATTLE!!

I’ll make my update post some other time. I guess WordPress doesn’t feel like being nice, and deletes my post and replacing it with a picture and draft is saved with just the picture….?! GAH! So yeah. I’m making a Versus! Post! In my Hard Candy post, I said that the eye primer isn’t my favorite, and said it wasn’t very good. I tried it out again, with an Eye Primer Brush this time around, and then it worked awesome!! I didn’t give it enough credit, and I feel bad for bashing it. I really do like it, and use it every day! Anyways, I got a little sampley doodly of the Best Selling Most Popular Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion (wow that was a lot of caps lock haha!)

Anyways, let the Battle begin!!! 

Let’s start with an un-makeup-ified face!!! AUUUGH HIDEOUS!!! Okay, not that bad, but I do look pretty gross haha….

And yes, my hair is magenta and red and purple and bubblegum pink and... Yeah.

The products!

Primed and plain, the side where the primer is, is the eye I applied it on. So right eye, Urban Decay and left eye, Hard Candy (although the camera mirrored it weird so it doesn't appear that way, haha)

More frowny fayce time! They both blend into my skin really well, and don;t change the ‘color’ (I guess) of my skin tone at all, the e.l.f one I was so in love with before always made it lighter and weird… Haaah…

I used all but the brown on this side of the palette on my eyes. I see no difference in brightness (and of course these photos do no justice at all) the Urban Decay made the Shimmery side of this eyeshadow stand out a little more than the Hard Candy did with it. Hard candy did look a little Darker though(more matte, I suppose)

No difference in how the eyeliner looked or felt. These are the ones I used. Perversion Kohl liner for my Waterline, and Sabbath Liquid liner for my lid.

Yay my eyemake-up is done! Smiles~ Do you see any difference between the two?? I don't see much...

Then a whole day of running around doing errands, work, more errands, moving stuff, and even more errands from 5:30am until 11:00pm.

I have normal-oily eyelids, if that helps anyone.

Ummm, this one was brighter, but not as up-close.

The Hard candy just had the slightest hint of creasing, just barely there. And the pigment was a little less there, but not very noticeable. It did make the eyeliner a little shiny and hard looking, but no sign of breaks or cracks in the eyeliner! Yay! As for Urban Decay….

No creasing at all, or any signs of it. But strangely it seems as if it moved some of my makeup around? Like, blended it more or something. Hahahaha!!! The colour pigment was a little faded, like the Hard Candy eye, but not by much. Not too shiny/hard looking on the eyeliner which is great~ (> v<)/ I do however put the primers below my eye too, (because i create shadow/highlights there etc) and it seemed to get more oily on the Urban Decay under eye, than the Hard Candy under eye. Weird, haha!

Hard Candy

Feel ❤❤❤❤❤ It was creamy and easy to blend in, and not sticky or tacky at all! (I tried out Too Faced and felt icky sticky yucky! So this is really nice!

Lasting ❤❤❤❤ It lasted me really all day into night, and there wasn’t any problems with it that anyone else would notice anyway! It lasts pretty good for staying almost 18 hours! 

Oil Control ❤❤❤❤ This did really awesome for oil control and stayed pretty matte besides the light creasing. The ‘Under-Lid’ did not crease at all, and there was very little fading. It did come off on my hand when I rubbed it though.

Price Point ❤❤❤❤❤!! They used to sell a big bottle of this primer for $6 (I’d say it has about 1 fl. oz) but strangely I think they stopped selling it in the big set, since it was un-popular with many people.

Over All Rating ❤❤❤.9   almost 4 hearts

Additional notes, many people say they got horrible creasing from this primer. I had the same problem in the beginning. I used a little more than you think you should use, and just keep blending into my skin. It works a lot better for me that way. I hope some out there give it another chance! 

Urban Decay

Feel ❤❤❤❤.5 I like the feel of this primer as well, although it is a little more firm than the Hard Candy. It’s just as blend-able and creamy, and also not sticky/tacky. Yay~ 

Lasting ❤❤❤❤❤ No colour fade, or creasing (besides the underlid) it looked great from 5am to 11pm, did not change the vibrancy of my eyeshadow at all (as in making it more noticeable or more dull, it goes both ways. 😛 ) I may want to try the other ‘shades’ of this primer for that.

Oil Control ❤❤❤ Umm, so I did really well with not rubbing my eyes so that I didn’t compromise the battle. But I looked at the Urban Decay side, and you know how it looks like if you rub that eye, eyeshadow is  going to  come right on your hand and get every where else… Well Thats how it looked. I rubbed it later, and it didn’t end up coming off, but just mixing and smearing all over my eye. HAH oh well. (The Hard Candy didn’t look like so, but it did end up coming off on my hand when I rubbed)

Price Point ❤❤❤ (I’m really in between giving it a two, or a three…) It is probably worth it enough to give it a three. But it’s really expensive for $19 and getting 10ml– They did just recently change it to 11ml, but they also upped it a dollar to $20. 😛 It’s pretty expensive!! I don’t have to use as much as I do with Hard Candy though.

This is the most ranted and raved about primer, with Too Faced Primers coming up right behind it. Everyone will say they loved this primer, and I’m no different, I like this primer a lot as well! I think I will try some other primers before I make this my sole ‘solid’ primer.

Crazy Beautiful Life

My tummy is so full of cookies, I can’t even believe it… I lost count after 14 cookies… Ugurgh… So I thought I’d blog while my tummy is settling. (~ 3~)

Superbowl!!! Who all watched it?? Who all drank too many beers to pay attention? (LOL)

I went to a friend’s house for the SB, she was having a small party with food and drinks and big TV (* w*)

I ate all the pizza pockets, watched the halftime show in horror (What was Madonna doing?? Drunken yogic squats?! HAHAHA) while everyone else was too drunk to even pay attention to the SB anymore. There was a point where we all played with fake mustaches and then put them elsewhere on our faces (@_@) I went home early though since I had to open the store (boo… ; 3; ) I ended up not sleeping a wink then crashing as soon as I got home haha.

What did you all do for the Superbowl? In the end I had a great time, even though it was a small party it was with friends, food, and fun~ The three Fs that I love ❤

I guess you also noticed I have gotten a new haircut… I can’t stand long hair on myself, and it was getting too long so I shaved it off. One side anyway… I’m keeping the other side long for my mom. 😛 Although I could care less. (._ .);

Also, my mom bought me a new purse! As a house warming gift, (since I’m moving out and stuff..) It’s more of an “I’m going to miss you so much my little baby girl” present… But okay, haha! 

ELLE purse~ It has a nice ribbon design, which I’m practically obsessed with anything that has ribbons, so… (>_>);;

 Then I also got myself some fragrance. It smelled really nice, I’m really surprised and impressed!

Then I also got myself a disc drive for my MacBook Air ❤ and some Sephora goodies.

It was on sale, and limited Edition, so why not? It has really cute colours in the palette!

From left to right, Venus a beautiful Copper with gold metallic hints, Leather a nice deep cocoa matte brown, Specimen a nice soft beige, Rehab a satin sand, and my favorite parts of the palette… Peggy a wondrous aqua teal with slight hints of gold! Bukowski a gorgeous deep ocean blue, Bellbottom a lovely Periwinkle colour with a little bit of a hint of aqua, and lastly Morphine (cream) is a shimmery almost metallic cool toned white with hints of aqua

 I super love this palette!!! It has cool tones, warm tones, and a highlighter!! If I had to pick only one palette to travel with, this would be it. It’s so wonderful and pigmented and fun! My favourite colours are in there, along with some pretty browns, golds, and the copper was a surprise! I’ve never seen such a pretty copper. Love it!!

Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Perverse. It’s the new one they released that’s the BLACKEST of the black.

If you compare it to their other black Zero, it’s waaaay more black. Like if you use copic markers, it’s like using 100-Black against 110-Special Black. It’s apparently pumped with more ink and pigments than Zero so it makes it an ever better black to make it really POP. And boy does it! This is actually my first UD product, so I’m really excited about it (> w<)

It lives up to it’s eyeliner claims and such, and since there’s plenty of reviews I won’t waste my time here with telling you how cool it is haha!

Last but not least, I got this! I took my little sister into Sephora, (big sisters are supposed to teach their younger about make-up! That’s how it works. :] )

And looked around at all the make-up and fragrance and such. Then we’re looking at the Smashbox section, and she goes “Ewwww what IS that?!” Pointing to the olivey green face primer they have. I explain that it’s good for “perfecting” blemishes and redness etc and I take the sample to show her. A Sephora associate rushes over and goes “WAAAAIT–Hold your horses!! I have to show you this magical stuff!!” As fast as she ran over to us, she rushed away as well. Me and my sister just looked at each-other. We were like “Uhh… What??” 

She runs right back over, and goes “Okay, okay you girlies!! Here I have this fresh clay concealer that is MAGIC in a TUBE.” She goes straight to applying the stuff on my sister’s face. My sister is 14, so she’s dealing with her hormones and puberty & all that not-so-fun stuff. So she does have acne, and because she’s very fair skin-toned, she also has redness. Literally in three seconds it was gone. Well, of course, it was concealed. But we get to talking about the product more, and when I look back at my sister’s face, IT WAS SO SMOOTH and looked so flawless (o _o) I was floored. It looked really good, like healthy skin should! It has Umbrian Clay components that are patented so no one else has this stuff in their products. The associate who showed us this product was using it herself, because she has Rosacea and Eczema, but I couldn’t tell. But on her arms you could which she let us see.

Then she told us her whole life story, and we apparently helped her decide to break up with her boyfriend (that sucks) then I was ushered to put in an application for working there. So yeah. That was a three hour Sephora adventure. (~_~)

But I got a lot of good products, some I never intended to buy, and some I never even intended to walk by! It’s always good to see it in a different light, if you get what I’m saying. 🙂

I’ll end my post here for now! I’m going to finish Brave Story (I’m on page 717, so close to the end…!! Yet not really.) hopefully before the day ends! Since it’s my last day off for a couple of weeks. Hopefully I can finish that, paint a little, and get some drawing in! Maybe. Well you all have a triumphant Friday!! Whoo!
